Behind the scenes at a Vitamin Water commercial shoot
Check out Kobe's reaction to Deron Williams' inability to hit a "wastepaper" jump shot!

There are four more of these "viral" videos. Check 'em all out here.

And speaking of Vitamin Water, our friend TK snapped this photo near LAX on Tuesday:

Listen: Kobe checks in from Beijing

KB called into the Ryan Seacrest Show this morning (listen here), and he broke down the differences between this year's Team USA squad vs. others, the strong sense of camaraderie among the teammates and more.

So what does Team USA do when they are not playing? KB says they go to "every event possible". This morning, the team watched Micheal Phelps collect his fourth and fifth gold medals of the 2008 games. After that, the team went to watch some boxing, but Two4 says he sneaked away to watch Argentina defeat Serbia in men's soccer, 2-0. The team also caught some beach volleyball and Kobe says they're going to watch water polo later today.

Check out the entire interview, as Kobe talks about visiting the Great Wall of China, describes how the team is eating and much more.

Listen to the entire interview here.

And don't forget Team USA faces Greece Thursday morning at 5am PT.

Team USA grinds past Angola; Greece up next
It wasn't the prettiest game, but Team USA took care of business Tuesday, moving to 2-0 in pool play with a 97-76 win over Angola at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

After the game, Team USA was looking ahead to Thursday's matchup with Greece, the team that stunned Team USA in the semifinals of the 2006 World Championships:

Im expecting this game right here to be tough, U.S. forward Carmelo Anthony said. They know that were coming back to redeem ourselves and Im pretty sure that they watch us a lot.... Anthony said the Greece game has been circled on my calendar for about two years now,
But the Americans will need a better performance from beyond the arc if they intend to gain some revenge against Greece. Team USA was just 5-for-21 from 3-point range vs. Angola, and that's coming off a 7-for-24 performance vs. China:
Its been a struggle, Bryant said. I think we have to adjust to being spot-up shooters, all of us. Were not acclimated to being spot-up shooters, so thats something we have to tweak a little bit and get used to.

But winning is always fun, no matter how you get there. Just check out Carmelo Anthony's smile in the background as he watches Kobe throw down a nasty 360 dunk vs. Angola:

Kobe moving to the front court?
Laker fans got some good news over the weekend when the team announced it had come to terms with 2007 2nd round pick Sun Yue. Amazingly, the 6-9 Yue plays point guard, but the Lakers say he'll probably see more time at the shooting guard spot, according to media relations director John Black:
"For us, he probably would play more at the two-guard simply because that's a less crowded spot for us," Black said.

Black said Sun's height could allow him to play small forward, but Sun would be facing a crowded position there as well.

But what really caught my eye is the AP story on the pending Sun Yue signing, which suggests the Lakers are considering moving Kobe to the '3' spot:
The Lakers are considering moving Bryant to small forward and making frontcourt player Lamar Odom a guard.

Check some grainy but impressive video highlights of Yue here.

Fans in the KB24.com message boards are discussing this topic here. Check out what they are saying and join the conversation!

    "I just met Kobe!"
By now you've seen the highlights , read the recaps and the analysis from Team USA's impressive 101-70 win over China in the debut of the "Redeem Team".

And you've probably seen photos of Kobe being mobbed by Chinese fans (like this photo, taken at the USA Women's basketball game vs. China):

But so far, one interesting note is how many Olympics athletes are wowed when they meet Kobe. The stories are everywhere:

  • Boxing Coach Meets Kobe Bryant
  • Gay awestruck during chat with Kobe
  • Kobe Bryant gets all the attention off the court

And here's a cool story from an American living in Shanghai on Kobe's popularity in China:

    Style and scoring ability.

This is why Kobe Bryant is the greatest sports icon in China; not Yao Ming, not Yi Jianlian, not even groundbreaking hurdle-champion Liu Xiang.

This was the prevailing sentiment amongst those polled in the sold-out Qizhong Arena in Shanghai that was painted with 24s and 8s.
